THE BLACK HOOD #1 by Max Riffner

Max Riffner writes and draws Drunk Elephant Comics (http://www.drunkelephantcomics.com), and also recently worked with writer Kevin Church on Lydia (http://www.lydiacomic.com). In 2007, he won the Isotope Award for his mini-comic, Quick Step (http://www.maxriffner.com/quickstep). Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Max is now attending the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont. He's fairly excited he won't have to wear a suit on a regular basis anymore.

The Black Hood was created by Harry Shorten. Read more...

  2. I first thought of Red Hood and went oh nooooosssss, but then my vision adjusted. I was a fan of the pass-the-hood concept from Impact Comics, and DC has sadly done NOTHING with its Archie properties in the reboot. Not so here. Excellent.

Would read? Black Hood is a gun-toting vigilante concept I can actually get behind.

  3. I don't think DC has the rights anymore to the Archie characters.

  5. DC owns most of the Red Circle heroes at this point anyway, and this version of the Hood is from DC's !mpact line, so it fits.
